The privacy questions, answered

Not at ordinary speaking volume. Both models are built with multi-layer acoustic walls, acoustic glass and a full-perimeter door seal that engages when the door closes, and the ventilation ducts are internally baffled so they don’t carry sound out. A pod is only as good as its weakest gap, which is why the seal matters as much as the panels. The honest test is a showroom: close the door and have someone talk inside while you listen from outside.

Yes, through the glass. Both models have a glass door at the front and glass at the back, so the floor can see when the booth is in use without hearing what’s said. On the MW-Pod the two panels beside the desk, front and rear, are solid, so the desk sits against a solid panel rather than glass. If you need the glass obscured, frosted glass or a solid rear wall in place of the glass are on the options list — ask when you enquire.

Anywhere on the floor with a standard power outlet within about two metres. The pod stands on its own wheels and levelling feet and isn’t fixed to the floor, walls or ceiling, so it doesn’t need a wall behind it and can be moved when the layout changes. Leave the roof clear, because that’s where the air comes in and goes out. Footprints and height are in the table above.

Yes. Four fans run continuously while the pod is in use, drawing fresh air in and pushing stale air out through the roof, and the ducts are baffled so the airflow carries no sound. A sensor in the ceiling starts the fans and the lighting as you step in and powers them down after you leave; the speed is yours to set from the panel inside.

A privacy booth is a freestanding, one-person acoustic pod on the office floor, so a call or an hour of focused work can happen without the open-plan hearing it. “Privacy pod” and “office phone booth” describe the same kind of product; “booth” usually means the one-person size.

Peacepod makes two. The S-Pod is the booth for quick calls and short private conversations, at $8,795 + GST. The S-Pod is independently tested to ISO 23351-1 and rated Class A for speech privacy, certified by SGS. The MW-Pod is the pod for a full working day, with a larger desk and an office chair, at $11,795 + GST. Both seat one person, come fitted out as standard with acoustic walls and glazing, continuous ventilation, lighting, power and a height-adjustable desk, and stand on wheels rather than being fixed to the floor, walls or ceiling.

For calls, video meetings and short focus sessions, a phone booth: the S-Pod is a one-person booth with a sit/stand desk and a bar stool. For somebody’s desk for a full day, an office pod: the MW-Pod has a larger desk and a proper chair. For two or more people, see the meeting pods side by side.

The published price covers the pod fully fitted out as standard — LED lighting, continuous ventilation while the pod is in use, acoustic glazing, a power socket with USB-A and USB-C, a proximity sensor that brings the lighting and ventilation up as you step in and powers them down after you leave, and wheels so the pod can be repositioned.

The furniture is included too: the desk, seating, table or display mount that comes with your model. All of it is standard, not a paid upgrade.

Delivery and professional installation are quoted with your order, based on your location and site access.

We hold stock of our standard models locally in New Zealand, so if the model you want is in stock we can usually deliver and install within one to two weeks.

If your order needs to be manufactured, the lead time is approximately eight weeks. That applies to custom pods too — a custom build does not take longer.

We will confirm the lead time for your specific order before you commit.

Your pod is assembled on site. It is delivered in sections and our installation team builds it in position, so there is nothing for you to assemble.

Installation time depends on the model and the site. We will confirm what to expect when we schedule your delivery.

It plugs into a standard power outlet, the same as any appliance. New Zealand and Australia both run 230 V, so the pod is built for the outlet you already have.

The lead is 2 metres long and the connection is at the bottom of the pod. There is no option to run the supply out through the roof, so the outlet needs to be within about two metres of where the pod will stand. If it is not, tell us before delivery rather than on the day and we will work out what is needed.

Inside, there is a power socket with USB-A and USB-C on the control panel, alongside the lighting dimmer and the fan-speed control. If you need more than one, an extra socket is on the options list, and so is a network port.

Generally not — but if you are in any doubt, check with your local council. What we can tell you is how the pod is installed: it is assembled on site, stands on its own wheels, plugs into a standard power outlet, and is not fixed to the floor, walls, or ceiling.

Tell us about your site and we will share what comparable installations have involved. For a definitive answer on your building, check with your building manager or local council.

Yes. Our standard Peacepod models sit on wheels and are not anchored to the floor, wall, or ceiling, so you can reposition a pod within your space yourself.

If you are moving office, we offer a relocation service — get in touch and we will help coordinate it.

Yes — that is what the showrooms are for. You can spend as long as you like inside a pod: make a call, listen to how much of the room drops away when the door closes, and get a feel for the size.

Each showroom has a selection of models on display, and which ones varies by location. Get in touch before you visit and we will tell you what is on the floor, or arrange for something specific to be available.
