Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Peacepod collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle your information in line with the Privacy Act 2020.
Who we are
This website is operated by Peacepod Group Limited (NZBN 9429049399974), trading as Peacepod. If you have any questions about your privacy or this policy, email us at privacy@peacepod.co.nz.
What this policy covers
This policy covers the personal information we collect through this website and when you get in touch with us — for example, when you send an enquiry, request our product guide, sign up for updates, or chat with our team. It does not cover other websites we link to, which have their own privacy policies.
The information we collect
Information you give us. When you send an enquiry, request the product guide, subscribe to updates, or contact us, we collect the details you provide — typically your name, email address, phone number, and anything you tell us about what you are looking for.
Information we collect automatically. When you browse the site, we and our analytics and advertising providers collect technical information — your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, the links you click, and how you arrived (including, for visitors who come from our online ads, a click identifier used to measure ad performance). This is collected using cookies and similar technologies, described in the next section.
We only collect what we reasonably need. Giving us your details is voluntary, but if you choose not to, we may not be able to answer your enquiry or send you the product guide.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies to run the site, understand how it is used, and measure our advertising. These are:
- Cookies we set ourselves to keep the site running and remember your preferences.
- Google Analytics and Google Ads, loaded through Google Tag Manager — measuring how visitors find and use the site, and which of our ads lead to an enquiry.
- Vercel Analytics — aggregate, privacy-friendly traffic and performance measurement.
- A first-party attribution cookie we set ourselves. It records how you arrived at the site, including the advertising click identifier passed by Google or Meta if you came from one of our ads, so that an enquiry can be matched to the ad that prompted it. It expires after 90 days.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and manage personalised advertising through your browser's privacy controls and the ad-settings or opt-out tools offered by the networks that serve our ads. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.
How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and provide the information or product guide you have asked for;
- keep in touch about your enquiry and, where relevant, about our products and showrooms;
- measure and improve the website and our advertising;
- meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
If we send you marketing messages, every message includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can tell us to stop at any time by emailing privacy@peacepod.co.nz.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the providers who help us run our business, and only as far as they need it:
- Zoho — our customer relationship management (CRM) system. Enquiries and product-guide requests are stored there so our team can respond, and it is the system that emails you the product guide.
- Supabase — the secure database that records your enquiry when you submit a form on this website.
- Google — analytics and advertising measurement, through Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google Tag Manager.
- Vercel — website hosting, and the performance analytics described above.
Some of these providers store and process information outside New Zealand, including in Australia and the United States. Where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled with appropriate protections.
Most of the time we collect your personal information directly from you. If we ever collect it from someone else, we will take reasonable steps to make you aware, as required by the Privacy Act 2020.
How long we keep it
We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or for as long as the law requires, and then we delete or de-identify it.
Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access — including through the security measures of the trusted providers we use. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
Your rights and how to complain
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, at any time — just email privacy@peacepod.co.nz. We will respond within a reasonable time.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner — privacy.org.nz or 0800 803 909.
