Office pod sizing guide: which size do you actually need?

Size is the decision that's hardest to undo. Too small, and every session feels cramped — people won't use it. Too large, and you're paying for floor space you don't need.

Here's a practical guide to every size in the Peacepod range, with real dimensions, use cases, and prices. We'll also cover one sizing rule worth knowing before you choose. 1-person pods — phone booths and focus work

Single-person pods split into two distinct use cases: quick private calls, and extended focus work. These sound similar, but they call for different products.

S-Pod — Phone Booth: 960 mm wide × 1,000 mm deep × 2,185 mm high. Designed for calls of up to 30–45 minutes, with a sit-stand desk and a height-adjustable stool. Compact enough to fit in corridors and smaller floorplates. From $8,795 excl GST. MW-Pod — Work Pod: 1,555 mm wide × 1,350 mm deep × 2,185 mm high. Designed for extended focus sessions of 1–3 hours. Includes a wall-mounted sit-stand desk, a full office chair, a power socket and USB-A and USB-C charging. 2-person pods — meetings and collaboration

Two-person pods are the most versatile in the range. They suit one-on-ones, manager check-ins, short collaborative sprints, and private HR conversations.

If two people regularly become three, or you need a screen in the room, go up to the L4 — the screen mount starts there.

4-person pods — team meetings

The L4 is our most popular pod. It handles the meeting format that open-plan offices struggle with most: the 4-person team sync or video call.

L4: 2,150 mm wide × 1,350 mm deep × 2,185 mm high. Seats four to six around a central table with two sofas, and includes a screen mount for video conferencing. Its eight fans start when the occupancy sensor detects someone stepping in. From $13,895 excl GST.

Depth is the dimension worth checking closely at this size. In the L4 it's 1,350 mm, and it's the dimension the sofas run along — so it sets how much seat each person gets. Many pods sold as four-person are only 1,200 mm deep. That 150 mm comes directly off the width of the sofa, and it is the difference between two people sharing one comfortably and two people sitting shoulder to shoulder.

The L4 is the right choice for teams that hold daily standups, client video calls, or weekly planning sessions. At four people and up, the acoustic performance of the pod matters — conversations need to stay inside, and external office noise needs to stay out.

6+ person pods — conferences and workshops

XL: 2,150 mm wide × 2,100 mm deep × 2,185 mm high. Seats six to eight for team meetings, training sessions and workshops, with a full-sized table, two sofas and a screen mount. From $23,995 excl GST.

The XL is typically chosen by organisations replacing a traditional glass-walled meeting room — it provides comparable capacity in a self-contained unit that can be repositioned if the office layout changes.

How to count — don’t forget the screen

Headcount is the obvious way to size a pod, and it is usually where people stop. If a monitor, TV or video-conferencing display is going inside, count it as an occupant too.

A wall-mounted screen takes the space a person would have used, and it needs viewing distance in front of it. Size a pod to its exact headcount, then add a display, and it will feel tight. Across the range the screen mount starts at the L4, so in practice a screen and a size step tend to arrive together.

Examples:

Two people on a video call → choose the L4 rather than the M2; the screen mount starts there. A four- to six-person team meeting with a screen → L4. Six to eight people with a large display → XL.
